“By the Yard” introduces panoramic photography to the audience with no background in photography required. It offers insight into the technology behind the cameras that captured the epic views, including video demonstrations. Attendees will learn how photo warping was prevented (sometimes unsuccessfully) and uncover some of the key people behind the innovative technology. Beginning with the birth of photography, the program tells the story of the evolution of panoramas from daguerreotypes to cell phones.
